The Quantitative Risk Management role participates in developing and implementing global risk quantitative and analytic models to support efforts to minimize risk. Working under limited supervision, the Quantitative Risk Management Analyst provides risk management support for the business in key risk identification, measurement, and aggregation; and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate practices and processes
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists with developing and/or reviewing models to support identification and review of risk issues, risk metrics and risk exposure.
- Applies established risk metrics and risk tolerance guidelines and policies.
- Develops processes for effective and efficient reporting and data analysis to minimize risk exposure.
- Ensures data inputs to models are valid and appropriate.
- Supports the risk management system and regularly communicates material risk issues, risk metrics, and risk exposure resolutions.
- Contributes to explanations of quantitative risk management policies and procedures to ensure timely and transparent communication.

Software Developer – Financial Risk ManagementJob Description
This position requires the candidate to work with Risk Data Analytics and Infrastructure team to build and enhance risk analytics systems, processes, reports to support the Enterprise Risk team at TIAA. The ideal candidate must have strong experience performing financial risk analysis and implementing models in Python.
Work Experience5-8 Years Required.
Required Skills- Bachelors in information technology or related fields
- Prior experience performing financial risk analysis and implementing models using Python (or R).
- Prior experience and domain knowledge in Asset Management / Financial Risk Management Technology: Deep understanding of financial products data (Equities, Fixed Income)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in building various feeds to risk engines (MSCI Risk Manager, FactSet) using batch or service API.
- Experience with reporting or data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI)
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL)
- Prior experience in / knowledge of alternative asset classes such Commercial Real Estate, Private Equity, Energy, Infrastructure, Timber, Agriculture, etc.
